Energy transition: The preservation of proper living
Accelerating the Global Energy Transition
The notion of a smooth and equitable global transition to clean energy, particularly by supporting nations like Mongolia—characterized by small economies and dependence on fossil fuel exports—was prominently underscored at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2024 (BETD) conference. This emphasis stems from the sluggish progress of clean energy investments in developing regions across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Consequently, developed nations advocate for the necessity of bolstering and investing in the transition to clean energy in these developing countries.
This critical issue headlined discussions at the "Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2024" conference held in Berlin on March 19-20. Serving as the premier international platform for deliberating energy transition, the 10th BETD Conference convened under the theme "Accelerating the Global Energy Transition."
Energy Insight actively participated in the BETD conference, focusing on novel approaches to energy transition policies. The opportunity to cover the 10th BETD conference in Berlin was made possible through the generous support of the Embassy of Germany in Mongolia. This edition features comprehensive conference coverage, offering insightful perspectives on countries' energy strategies, solutions, and practices. Our magazine's editorial team is committed to providing regular updates on international conferences in the energy sector, serving as a hub for diverse information, viewpoints, innovative solutions, and global trends.
In other news, Energy Insight is delighted to announce that the Mongolian Energy Research and Innovation Fund (a collaboration between USAID, MEG, and MERI as part of the Mongolian Energy Governance Project facilitated by USAID Mongolia) has unveiled grants for innovative projects aimed at enhancing the energy sector in 2023. We are proud to share that among the six projects selected for the initial grant, one is spearheaded by Energy Insight magazine.
The scholarship will serve as vital support in amplifying the dissemination of valuable research-based insights and analyses within the energy sector. It will facilitate the creation of databases and resources, foster the development of specialized journalism in energy, provide additional training for journalists focusing on energy topics, and encourage collaboration between journalists and field experts. I am hopeful that this support will significantly empower journalists and editors. It's important to clarify that this support is solely dedicated to enhancing journalistic capacities and activities.
